Out of Santees Chick

A truly good old-fashioned Foundation bred stallion (i.e. 'THE' original Quarter Horse standard, minimal Thoroughbred input), bred to do all  jobs efficiently, sensibly and willingly. TOYS TRIPLE CHICK (Rooster) is wrapped in the most beautiful irridescent dun colour, dun factor galore with leg barrings, dorsal stripe, frosted mane and tail, tipped and lined ears, coupled with one of the most stunning heads you will ever find in his breed.

His temperament is VERY easy going and he is a pleasure to have around. He lives with his mares and foals and therefore a very balanced character. knowing his place in the scheme of things.  I can handle him alone in the field without a problem, even when the girls are in season and that has to say something for his temperament.

His breeding combines some of the best Foundation bloodlines and Performance lines available, his grandsire being from the renowned JAZ RANCH (POCO GRAY COMET) along with the well known SLICK ROCK mare line.  His dam is by THREE TIMES DAILY an AQHA point earner and son of DOCS PRESCRIPTION, World Champion producer, and sire of NCHA earners in excess of $2,000,000. She is also out of grand daughter of TRIPLE CHICK - million $$ racing sire as well as a huge AQHA producer including many AQHA Champions, ROM earners as well as NCHA money earners.

Rooster have produced numerous and EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM ARE DUNS, either classic dun, grullo , red dun or dunalino .  Therefore he guarantees colours of some shade.

Coming from Foundation Working Stock, Rooster finds it quite natural and I find it quite fascinating to watch him 'work' his herd. He doesn't touch them in any way shape or form, but adopts the stance of a working Border Collie and 'holds' and 'turns' them with just a look of his eye and slight movement of his body, with his head just poised above the ground and just the power of his eye - they listen!  This, coupled with the temperament of a lapdog Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, I consider myself to be one fortunate person to own such a star of a horse.

All his offspring have good feet, which is a bonus and our farrier could not be more pleased with that outcome!

Along with his colour (which is just an added bonus) he is throwing superb heads and good temperaments to very healthy substantial foals.

Rooster has taken 8 years to reach his maturity, although at 2 he still looked stunning, I think this will reflect in his offspring and they will mature steadily, but slowly and take all of the 7 years they say that American Quarter Horses take to fully mature.

He is so even tempered, he lets his sons/daughters climb all over him, steal his food and even try to drink from him.

Rooster has been tested for HERDA (Hereditary Equine Regional Dermal Asthenia) and has tested N/N (negative)
