                FOALS 2009

14TH OCTOBER 2009 -ENYA

Maple decided she was going to take her own time in getting pregnant. She lost her foal prematurely last year and it was felt as she was quite depressed about it to let her run with Rooster again.  Although late (later than I was hoping) she has just given birth to a cracking  filly. Fortunately the weather was perfect . The original plan was for her and Kissit to foal at the same time, but Maple obviously decided just to chill for a while before getting back in business.

Had a text book delivery and the foal is perfect.  Maple is a very good mum, giving that almost touchable heart wrenching low whinney to her baby every now and then, cleaning her bottom and generally being attentive.

N.B. ENYA IS  SILVER GRULLA.

You can see her leg barrings behind her knees, going to be a lovely colour.

ESEE (grullo filly)

Sunday morning, 9th August at 11.15am.

Sunday morning, catching up on my emails, when one of the neighbours rung and said 'Do you know you have a new foal??'  Needless to say, there was a little puff of dust as I flew out of the house into the field.

Kissit was not due till next week at the earliest "due" date and bearing in mind she went over 13 months last time when she had Chisum I didn't expect her to be doing this, right now!!

Things were a little excitable in the field, Belle and her foal Esha, along with the other youngsters were around Kissit, but I couldn't see the foal.  Looking more closely, the little one had attached herself to Belle, who thought it great fun to have two babies.  Fortunately with Bev's help (as usual), baby was put back with her proper mum and the others separated  from her.

Not a patch of white on little Esee (means - born on a Sunday!). Found her feet very fast , drinking and all bodily functions working well.

This is one beauty of a foal, lovely head, coupled with the colour - astounding!!!!  I am nearly as pleased as Kissit!!

Esee is very high foundation and although not a Champagne this time has ticked all the other boxes of an ideal foal.

Eton has a lot of presence and is very friendly, he will mature about 15hh ish and be the most stunning looking horse with lovely markings - suitable for potential showing and maybe a stallion prospect.
